Well where do I start...I'm 29 years old and based in the midlands. I've been a bit obsessed with Angling since my old man first took me back when I was just 4!
Between the ages of 12 & 22 I was a keen match angler cutting my teeth on the local River Blythe, then moving onto captaining Birmingham Starlets and even having England trials at 14. However as more and more matches seemed to be heading towards commercials I longed to get back onto the river! Holidays to the Severn were an annual treat and this is where I started to loose the urge to match Fish and just get out as often as I could, targeting by far my favourite of species...the Barbel.
I'm pretty sure that nearly every Barbel angler at some point has used the Elips pellets from Hinders as the track record is that good, weather it’s numbers of Fish from the likes of the Severn or trickier little rivers with big rewards, I would have utmost confidence in a bag of Elips, they really are that good and with the addition of the “Flatz”pellet the range is even better! I personally like to use a mixture of the two in different sizes.
Back to my fishing and the transition from match to specimen all rounder and the honour to represent Hinders and Korum!
With time being tight as is with most anglers due to work and family commitments I try to get out on the bank as much as I can, once maybe twice a week. However over the years these short sessions have served me well amassing several Personal Bests that I could only have dreamt of when first starting out. British Carp to 40lb+, double figure Bream, Chub to 6lb12oz, Perch of 3lb 13oz, 2lb+ Grayling, 2lb+ river Roach and possibly my favourite capture to date a Barbel of 16lb 6oz!!
I have also been lucky enough to have some fantastic trips around the world at an early age, from Catfishing in Spain to Catching 11ft Sturgeon in Canada, I've even had the chance to test myself against a Great white Shark!! Which I won by the way but only just!
