ESP Syncro XT Loaded Line Review

Product Review - Kev Hewitt

I have been using the original ESP Syncro XT since its release a number of years ago and having tried a huge number of different lines I have to say that I had finally found a line that I was happy with. I must admit I was rather reluctant to switch to the new ESP Syncro XT Loaded when it was released but I have to say I preferred the new dark olive colour. Due to this reason I decided to give it a try and I have to say that it has exceeded my expectations. The colour blends in beautifully so line concealment is maximised. The line is very supple and has a nice thin diameter for its breaking strain making it a superb monofilament for casting, it simply flies off the reel.

The line is stated as a super fast sink mono and this is very true but the line does need bedding in. I recommend that the line is soaked in soapy water overnight before applying to reel or if you are like me, I fish tight lines and heavy leads. I load the line straight onto the spool and although the first session out it takes a little gentle teasing to get it to sink, but after that first session it is bedded in nicely and sinks very well. Having used many monofilament over the past 15 years, I can honestly say that the Syncro Loaded is the best I have ever used. It has all of the properties I look for in carp line, it really does tick all of the boxes.
