Name:Craig Bull

Lives inThatcham

Occupation:Engineer – network/telecommunications

Angling Category:Specimen Carp

Describe yourself as an angler: Started Carp fishing as a young boy with my Dad and Grandad, never really stopped. Over the past few years it has become a bigger part of my life/ I’m a very keen, committed anger.

Favourite Venue:Current syndicate, Carthagena, Essex

Favourite Species:Carp
Favourite Method/Approach:Solid bags for me have proven to be most effective in most cases. But, I am a sucker for a single pop-up on a Ronnie.
Favourite Hinders Bait: Betalin B Extract was always my favourite edge. Nut 365 Range is also a go to.

Most memorable session:  I was down Ashbury Fisheries for a fishing weekend with a few mates, on the Saturday afternoon, I saw a show opposite my swim, decided to move onto it as it had been pretty quiet my end. Not long after away it went, slipped the net under the lakes record, a fish called “not cash” at 44lb 6oz. Fishing the same spot, the following morning I caught a fish called ‘the classic’ at 35lb 8oz. A weekend I will never forget.

Target for the next 12months:My syndicate has a Common called ‘bullnose’ at 53lb. He’s the target. But all are welcome.

Current Personal Best Captures include:

  • Not Cash at 44lb 6oz
