As I've not had much work on at the moment I managed to get a cheeky midweek trip to Carpvale in. I was 4th to pick and managed to get the peg I fancied, 39 on the match lake. Added bonus no one went in 37 so I've had both reed beds to go at!

Before the match the reeds to my left were banging like crazy! But sods law as soon as the match started I've not seen a single reed move and only managed 1 f1 from this reed bed all match.

The reeds to the right thankfully had a few in, the only problem was it's a full 16m to reach them. I spent all match fishing here either dobbing corn skins or hard 6mm pellets, and I also managed a few late on the deck.

It was hard work all day as they were very spooky in the bright still conditions. Once I caught it took a while for them to come back into my pole range.

I ended up with 15 small carp and 1 f1 for 36lb finishing second with the winner just beating me on 36lb 15oz! I lost 4 or 5 but that's hardly surprising with where I've had to put the rig to get bites.

Nice day weather wise and miles better than work!
