Carpvale Open - Tom Bainbridge

Back to Carpvale today for the open on Cyprio.  Nearly every peg in and the first frost over night knew it could be a tricky day! Drawing arm has let me down again, drawn peg 4 right in the corner, even worse the over hanging bush in the margin that holds a lot of carp has been cut down.

On the plus side peg 5 was empty so had a bit of room. Got off to a good start with 8 good carp on short pole at 6m in first 2 hours for about 45lb. Feed was Hinders 6mm Carp Pellets with a dash of the Tutti Boosted Liquid on, with a 8.5mm Tutti Frutti Boosted Pellet banded on the hook.

Was a bit of a false dawn though as rest of match has been a bit of a struggle.  Just knicked the very odd carp here and there, couple long in open water, 3 down my right margin( where the bush used to be!) And 1 more short, all lines feeding the same bait. Made a mistake really,  last half hour out of desperation I've gone tight up to the side of peg 5 platform, had 3 and lost 3 carp, one of which  looked getting on double figures 

Should of gone on this line early, know how problematic it can be with lost fish so put it off! Ended up with 74lb for 3rd, 83lb was 2nd and Ben Fisk has smashed the match off his favourite peg 12 with 129lb!
