Straight from a 12 hour nightshift at work I arrived to my syndicate on first light. With a what felt like cold north westerly wind pushing down the entire lake I set about locating some fish. After a lap of the lake I finally saw a couple of fish showing in a central area of the lake.

I rigged up trusty solid bag tactics which as always combined the Mini Combo Pelletsand Salmon Fry Crumb. Hookbait choice being my ever faithful Plum Betalin Wafters
The fish was showing at around 110 yards and with a ever increasing wind in my face I launched the bags out to the zone. Both rods was deployed on the same tactic.
By 9am and nothing happening and no more shows I decided to reel the rods in and walk more hoping to find a better opportunity elsewhere and hopefully somewhere a little more sheltered from the cold wind.

I had literally pushed all my gear all around the lake when out in the ripples towards the back of the wind one slid out and re entered sending a large spray of water into the air. That will do I said to my self so I quickly deployed 2 solid bags into the area both falling extremely shallow around 2.5/3ft depth. The sun had started to break through the dense cloud cover and I knew they would soon be in search of some warmer water.

I spread around 30 or 40 Blitz Baits around the area and sat back drifting off on my chair exhausted from the lack of sleep. Well my relaxing never lasted long at all within 10 mins I was away it was great to see a nice 30lb mirror sulking in the bet after not being fishing for some time. I employed the same tactics for the next 7 hours topping up with 30 or 40 Blitz baits per fish.

The day was incredibly hectic having 15 bites with a couple of double takes too. Landing 10 fish over 30lb unfortunately I had a couple of repeats. But managed some beautiful carp that was still unfortunately down in weight from spawning. I left the lake by 6pm a very happy man.
