After recently completing my first night on my new syndicate, I was eager to get back down after a fruitless first session. I had to stay mobile, but by following where the fish were moving and settling on a swim for the night, I presented simple rigs with wafting hook baits, soaked in Betalin and Plum, over a healthy scattering of Pro Marine.

Although I lost one after only a few hours, I managed to land two nice commons to 27lb overnight. The fish began spawning hard early morning and I quickly packed down and made for home without disturbing them too much. With the lake closed for a short time, it gives me a chance to organise tackle and maybe drop in somewhere for a day session, before hopefully heading back for more of the same!
