John McGough’s 32 Barbel in two Days with Hinders Elips "The Rolls Royce of Pellets"

Well, what a 2 days manic fishing that turned out to be. As always this very special water never failed to produce the goods.

It was an early start for me at 1am with a 400 mile round trip, stopping off at a mate's on the way.

We were on the bank at 5 am both mornings fishing by 5:30, packing up early on the first day to book into our guest house in Collingham, the Coach House which is absolutely superb and ran by the lovely Beth. Over the 2 days, I ended up with 32 barbel and a few chub, with nearly as many double-figured fish as single.

Glenn Skinner chipped in with a good few barbel including a new PB of 14.6. Rigs were simple, 3oz grippas, 2-foot tails with Hinders Elips Pellets on the hair with mesh bags.

This one trip has probably produced a year's worth of fish back home on my local Hampshire Avon.

Roll on the next trip.
