Describe yourself as an angler:
I like to think I’m a target angler, Although I rarely manage what I’m after! I like to find a Carp or a group of Carp that have a story to tell and try to add them to my album. I usually get an overnighter a week and the odd weekend here and there so I find preparation is key at all times, whether that’s walking the lake on lunch breaks to keep in touch with the place or making sure rigs are tied at home to ensure my rod hours are used as effectively as possible. I’ve been with Hinders Bait a number of years now and have full faith in the entire range, it has caught me so many Carp from some real tricky pits.

Favourite Venue:Quiet Syndicates

Most memorable session:
My most memorable session is probably from when I was about 13-14 years old and I managed to convince my parents to let me do a night with my brother down a local lake. It was mid-October and I didn’t have a bed or bag at the time so ended up sleeping on my cradle in a 2 quid boot sale tent. It was probably the first frost of the Autumn and I didn’t sleep at all. Just stayed awake shivering!! I still managed a brace of 20’s that night and by the afternoon I was begging the parents to try and stay! I’m still as keen to this day I just sleep in a bed now!

Target for the next 12 monthsMy target this year (let’s be honest probably next couple of years) is a mid-50 Common known as Bullnose. Arguably one of the best Carp in the land!

Current Personal Best Captures include:

  • 39lb 12oz Common Carp

  • 35lb 5oz Mirror Carp
