I couldn’t wait to get down here, and it definitely lived up to expectations. The setting is unreal, a proper scenic, peaceful lake where you can switch off and fully focus on the fishing.

The session itself was incredible. I ended up banking 19 carp to 30lb, and it felt like every time things settled, another opportunity came along. It’s one of those venues where, if you approach it right, you’ll be rewarded.

Bait-wise, I kept things simple and it really paid off, washed-out Hinders Nut 365 boilies in 12mm and 15mm, paired with a mix of 6mm Nut Feed Pellet, Chinese Hemp, and corn. The fish responded really well to it. For hookbaits, Betalin & Sweet Almond wafters were spot on, and even plastic wafters soaked in the same consistently produced bites. Once the fish got on it, the action was steady.

What really makes it though is the overall experience. Sitting by the lake in such a quiet, scenic setting, but still getting that buzz every time the alarm sounds, it’s exactly what you want from a session like this.

The house itself works perfectly as a base, whether you’re there with mates or family. There’s a large kitchen with plenty of space, a comfortable seating area overlooking the lake, and a games room with pool and table football for when you’re winding down.
After long days (and nights) on the bank, the hot tub is a great way to relax and reset before getting back out there.

The property sleeps plenty of people too, so it’s ideal for groups or for combining a fishing trip with a family stay. Even for those not fishing, there’s more than enough to enjoy—BBQ, outdoor space, and activities for kids.

All in all, it’s a great balance—serious fishing with plenty of carp being banked, combined with a really comfortable place to come back to. I’ll definitely be returning.
