I purchased some bait from Bryan whilst visiting the Swindon Store at the start of the season. This comprised of the full range of the Elips Products; pellets, paste, flavouring and ground bait etc.
Due to circumstances, I have not been able to get to a barbel river, but settled for short trips to local lakes in Essex. I fished a flat feeder to short 4" hook length, 12 hook and hair rigged band. Ground bait was the Barbel Bomb Feeder Mix and I fished an Elips Dumbell on the band. It was a revelation with so much attention from big roach, upto 2lb 6 oz and 2lb 12oz. also tench and upper doubles carp.
I didn't fish far out and instead of the popular spodding, I catapulted 6-8mm pellets over the area. If takes went quiet, I wrapped the Elips Paste round the dumbell which would produce. I always fish the dumbell outside the feeder, and have had five fish on one bait. The barbel bomb ground bait, dumbells and paste are an inspiration.
