Describe yourself as an angler:I’ve been fishing for over 30 years on local day or season ticket waters enjoying the challenge of fishing both still and running water. Most of my fishing has been local to where I live but I did also fish in Ireland back in the 90’s when the Irish fishing scene was flourishing and used to enjoy deep sea fishing on charter boats from Minehead but I always come back to my ‘coarse’ fishing. I enjoy fishing for all species but nowadays due to work and a busy family life most of my fishing evolves around local Commercial Carp venues.

Favourite Venue:Flaxlands Fishery and the Cotswold Water Park in particularSouth Cerney Angling Club waters.

Most memorable session:I went to a campsite for a week with my other half for a chill out and although I knew there was a lake on site and I hoped I might get a bite or two but I never thought that I would catch a new personal best. I targeted an area at the end of an island and tucked my solid PVA bag full of pellet combo and a betalin plus wafter right under an overhanging tree. Despite the heavy and persistent rain it was quite humid and I was confident of a bite and I didn’t have to wait long. I was only on my second cup of tea went the buzzer beeped, the rod bounced and I was after a spirited fight I had my prize in the landing net a scale=perfect 25lb 5oz Common Carp.

Target for the next 12months:To catch a 30lb plus Carp.
