Describe yourself as an angler:As an angler I would have to say I’m a Carp angler. My Dad first took me fishing when I was 6 and ever since the first day I touched a rod I fell in love with the sport. However, ever since that day watching the big dark shapes cruise along the surface I knew that’s what I wanted to catch they just amazed me. I would say I’m very much an opportunist angler, I love finding them and lowering rigs in the edge – I just find it so exciting seeing it all unfold right in front of you.

Favourite Venue:Local Park Lake

Favourite Species:Mirror Carp

Favourite Method/Approach:Edge Fishing/Stalking them with Bread

Favourite Hinders Bait:Nut 365 Range

Most memorable session:The Park Lake, 6 May 2024. I only had 4 hours free so I decided to head down to the park and drop in on my baited spot. I got in the waders stepped into the lake and had to side cast my left hand rod into a small gravel spot in amongst a big weed bed. I was fishing a slip d-rig with a Nut 365 wafter and I introduced a small offering of Nut365 whole and chopped boilies onto the spot. After about an hour I had a few liners on the rod and before I knew she absolutely screamed into life the rod bent double as this fish was charging towards some reeds behind the spot. I jumped into the lake hitting the rod and instantly knew this was a good fish. I managed to pull her away from danger out into open water and after 10 minutes I eventually got her into the net and landed my first ever British 30 being a Common weighing 31lb 3oz. Just telling that story makes me wanna get back down the park!!

Target for the next 12months:Another British 30, a European 40 and to catch my first ever Catfish.
