On Friday 10th July I returned to France drove to our chateau for an overnight stay. Saturday morning we were on our way to a private fishing lake and had been invited to fish. After meeting the owner we walked around the lake the temperature was just over 40 degrees. The owner had said the was fishing hard due to the heat. I was staying for two weeks so I checked the weather forecast and the second week the wind was picking up and the temperature was dropping to 25 degrees.


I decided to fish the furthest swim on the lake it had trees where I could sit in the shade and the wind would be blowing at me for the second week hopefully the fish would follow. After setting up camp on Saturday I decided not to fish just to put out around 5 kilos of mixed Blitz Boilies and Blitz Elips Pellets also covered in Blitz Liquid food as free bait for the fish hopping they will feed confidently. 

The next day with baited rods two on one spot and one on another I was fishing at 10:30 after putting some more bait out. The day started slowly it wasn’t to mid afternoon when the first bite came a mirror graced the net weighing in at 39-5 a cracking start caught on a Blitz 20mm boilie dried out and dipped in Blitz liquid food. As the day went on I was getting liners the fish where feeding but know bites. 


I decided to remove one of the two rods of the same spot and place it in a different area my thought process was too many lines on one spot. Twenty minutes later a grass carp 33-13 not what I wanted however put up hell of a fight when it was in the net especially trying to get the hook out and a further two more followed before I called it a day at seven pm. The next day fished the same start times and finishing times for the rest of the holiday. On Monday three grass carp all day off one spot the next day two 40+ mirror carp and grass carp again.


However the mirrors started to turn up and the same rod kept going off all holiday I had a pb common a lake record 46-6 also another pb grass carp 39-11 the fish kept coming off the same spot the was getting right on the bait I was start to think the 50 kilos I bought with me was not going to be enough fish after fish eight days in I was on 63 fish caught the wind had picked up blowing towards me I was thinking can I get to 100 fish. The carp was obviously hungry and more fish after fish kept coming until Thursday mid afternoon I ran out of bait. The weight of the carp were incredible and to be honest I would have been happy to catch 20 fish over-the past two weeks but to catch 102 carp was unbelievable.
