Fished the last round of the Meadowlands pairs Saturday with Trevor Wyse. We were leading going into this round so needed a good draw after the recent dodgy weather and I got one in the shape of Lambsdown 20. The wind has been atrocious so I gambled in a feeder day setting up 3 Drennan Acolyte rods 2x 10ft and a 12ft for putting some bait in. I set up 2 pole rigs at 11m just incase but never even looked on it. At the start I feed 10 feeder fulls at 20m and 5 balls on the pole of a Hinders Test Fishmeal Groundbait.

Darren and Fishing Partner

I’ve had a slow start with the guy to my right going off like a rocket catching 6 proper bream/skimmers in the first hour to my 6 hand size skimmers luckily my peg got stronger and stronger and I’ve ended with 36lb 13oz to comfortably win the match and most importantly the section. Trevor had a reasonable draw to to come 4th in his section. We ended up 4th pair on the day which was enough to secure the league so a great day.

 New Test Bait for Darren

I’ve got to mention this test groundbait as I’ve used it 4 times and recorded 2 wins a 3rd and a 4th. In these 4 matches I’ve had 106lb of skimmers and think it’s a cracking product.
