I've been to Carpvale for the rover today. Last couple of rounds of the spring series I've been on match lake so I wanted a day on cyprio regardless of what peg! Middle of the queue to pick and surprisingly all the pegs I fancied still available so settled for flier peg 12.

Been a big temperature drop last couple of days and it's definitely had an effect on the fishing. First half of match was very slow, nicked one short first 15mins, had a few on the bomb, feeding 8.5mm Tutti Feed Pellets with a Tutti Boosted Pellet hookbait. Also had one on the method up to the island.
Couldn't get a sign at 16m in open water on two lines, but I kept pinging a few 6mm pellets covered in tutti oil on 1 of my lines and eventually started to get some signs.
Had 2 on the deck before it went iffy so decided to go shallow over the top and had 4 on the bounce. No more signs shallow so back on the deck for a couple more. Last half hour I've had 3 more short, lost one as they called time and thought it might be costly.
Ended up weighing 63lb which has been just enough to win with 57lb coming 2nd! Used the 12-14 slick for shallow and on the deck, bang on at the moment while they've not fully woke up . Nice to get a few shallow today, summer is on its way. Stayed on after match and it's been one a bung shallow!
