Managed to get out 3 days in a row over the Christmas break.

Thursday I’ve been to Hillview on the open with a few lads. 37 booked on so the whole venue was used. I’ve drawn peg 9 on the first lake, a bit hemmed in but a good peg normally. Along with the rest of the Lake I’ve really struggled until I engaged my brain and set up a Shalla flick rig, I’ve caught steady for a couple of hours fishing a 6mm Boosted Pellet through the water and ended the match with 61lb for a Lake win.

Friday I’ve gone to Moorelands for the open on Moore’s and Middle. Unfortunately only 10 turned up. I’ve drawn 12 moors....flyer!!! Very slow start but soon found some f1s dobbing bread into the corner until bites slowed up then I changed to kinder potting maggots at 14m into the corner and bagged up until the end to finish with 80lb 4oz and the win.

Saturday I’ve gone to Manor Farm Leisure open on Windmill, Middle and Island. I’ve drawn 14 island, normally a good area. I fancied it for a few to be honest. I started on the method to the island and had 2 F1s and a carp in the first hour then my peg completely died until 2 hours before the end when I found some fish long down the edge in 3ft of water, I caught the odd fish until the end to finish with 43lb and no where.

It’s been a slow year on my fishing front but great to see Hinders grow as a company and I’m looking forward to see what 2019 brings.
